Cooperation: Self Interest and Mutual Interest
October 16th, 2009
With Mary Alice Coffroth (Buffalo State University) and Anne Clark (Binghamton University), Angela organized a meeting on Cooperation: Self Interest and Mutual Interest, held at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. Nearly 100 colleagues from various disciplines, including evolutionary biology, ecology, suborganismal biology, psychology, anthropology, psychology, economics and english, joined us to discuss our common understanding and outstanding problems in the study of cooperation.
We thank the SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines and Cornell Center for a Sustainable Future for financial support of the meeting, and all the colleagues who participated, especially those who presented talks and posters.
Special thanks to Katharina Dittmar who took some photos at the meeting - do click on the slide show - and to Angela Early, Stephen Mondo, Eric van Fleet and Gaylord Desurmont who have prepared summaries of the oral presentations. Their summaries and the program of talks and posters are available as pdfs below.
The meeting was highlighted in The Cornell Chronicle on 21st October 2009.
