John is a postdoctoral associate who comes to the lab from The Boyce Thompson Institute. John has recently obtained evidence from genomic data that certain metabolic pathways in the pea aphid and its Buchnera bacteria are complementary. He is now working to establish whether - and how - the metabolic pathways of the two partners are coupled.
Eric joins the lab as a graduate student. He is studying the interactions between the nutrition and immune system of aphids.
