The origin and evolution of animal-microbe interactions

October 27th, 2011

24-27 October 2011  Angela participates in a 'Catalysis Meeting' program at The National Evolutionary Synthesis Center on "The origin and evolution of animal-microbe interactions", organized by Margeret McFall Ngai and Mike Hadfield.

The basis for the meeting is the increasing recognition among the community of biologists that microbes are coevolved partners with animals.  Over the 3½ days, we explored how the new findings shape our thinking about animal genomes and signaling networks, together with the animal origins, diversification and ecology.
