Ten students from Corning Community College (NY) and University of Mansfield (PA) have joined the laboratory for hands-on experience of genomics, from DNA extraction to sequencing and genomic analysis. The workshops include lectures, step-by-step guides to the wet bench and in silico analysis, and trouble-shooting support. The training program has been developed by postdoctoral staff Dr Alyssa Bost and Dr Bessem Chouaia and undergraduate student Nathan Winans, in conjunction with faculty Dr Jeanne Kagle (Mansfield University), Dr Brenda Gustin (Corning) and Angela Douglas (Cornell).
